Job Description
Responsibilities:
-Audits accounts payable documents for payment using Aggie Buy and FAMIS for Texas A&M AgriLife Research, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and TVMDL.
Documents and transactions are audited to ensure compliance with AgriLife, TAMUS, State and Federal procedures and purchasing rules and regulations.
- Assists all Disbursements staff in other duties as needed.
-Provides customer support to department business offices.
Answers inquiries from departments/units concerning purchasing guidelines and regulations.
Verifies with State Comptroller's Office Claims Division for questions that need interpretation.
Contacts vendors to assist departments/units in rectifying any vendor discrepancies.
Uses FAMIS as needed to report status of payments to departments/units or clients.
-Audit/Review Oversight system for potential audit issues.
Audit/review is compared with data in AggieBuy, Concur and FAMIS.
Coordinate with departments and Disbursements to clear or resolve any problems.
-Other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience plus an additional four (4) years of related experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or closely related field.
Four (4) years of accounting experience in a fiscal office.
Experience with AggieBuy (web-based e-Commerce system) and Concur (e-Travel and payment card system).
Expenditure (accounts payable and travel) audit experience with TAMUS member.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication, customer service and problem-solving skills.
Ability to comprehend and apply rules and regulations.
Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet programs.
Ability to use standard office equipment and computers.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of Aggie Buy, Concur, FAMIS and USAS.
Familiarity with Texas A&M
AgriLife.
Knowledge of disbursements department policies, procedures and practices.
Knowledge of existing Texas State purchasing and travel rules and regulations.
