D epartmental Accounting Services provides quality services that enable the institution to track and monitor fiscal operations.
Our goal is to assist in developing and maintaining quality accounting records and processes.
In conjunction with various TAMU departments and external customers, we strive to provide superior customer service .
What we want The Financial Analyst II is responsible for developing, preparing, and reviewing financial statements, budgets, and management reports.
Responsibilities also include designing internal controls and methods for improving operational and procedural processes and managing various departmental accounting processes.
This position also collects, analyzes, and reconciles data sets from internal bookkeeping systems to system of record, and/or financial data sets from source systems to system of record.

Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years of related experience in accounting, finance, cost accounting and/or analytical services.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong knowledge of word processing and proficiency in spreadsheet applications.
Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Analytical and organizational skills, and strong attention to detail.
Ability to work with large data sets.
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in business related field.
Preferred Experience: Higher Education experience.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Familiarity with Business Objects, FAMIS, Concur, iPayments, and AggieBuy.
Essential Duties/Tasks: Financial Reporting Develops, prepares, and reviews financial statements and management reports to include budgets, variance reports, and supplementary schedules.
Is responsible for all aspects of financial reporting to include journal entry posting, accruals, corrections, and supporting report schedules and tables.
Reconciliation and Verification Analysis Collects, analysis, and reconciles financial data sets from either source systems to system of record (FAMIS), or from internal bookkeeping system (Sage) to system of record (FAMIS).
Accounting Process Management Manages departmental accounting processes for various departments to include billing and asset disposal.
Designs internal controls and methods for improving operational and procedural processes.
