Job Description: Senior Accountant
Location: Navasota, TX
Reports to: Accounting Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Corporate Accountant is responsible for supporting various corporate accounting functions for a multi-site, international bovine genetics technology company.
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the position will support the general ledger team, standard revenue management, cost accounting, perform monthly variance calculations, inventory and depreciation analysis and maintain and test appropriate cash management accounting controls and policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES
Support various accounting groups as necessary including, cost, inventory, general ledger, cash management, fixed assets, etc.
Perform cash management and revenue accounting tasks and analyses across multiple international manufacturing sites.
Build activity-based budgeting models to help analyze and establish standard production costs with labor and material overhead rates.
Lead the customer trade management duties.
Process month end statements.
Perform and enter journal entries as part of the period end close functions.
Perform various GL reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner.
Analyze financial information by developing templates.
Advise and work with Business Units concerning procedures, financial information, and adjustments to GL.
Identify reconciling items and prepare adjustment.
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
5+ years’ experience in accounting in publicly traded company preferred.
Excellent analytical skills with a sound understanding of accounting principles.
Experience working with ERP and financial reporting systems.
Experience performing physical inventory and cycle counts.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
