The Lower Colorado River Authority's Fayette Power Project located in La Grange, Texas is looking for a motivated, self starter to work as a Power Plant Electrician! Having past experience in a coal fired power plant or in an industrial plant situation would be preferred.
Being able to comprehend sophisticated prints and schematics and being able to use them to troubleshoot and repair motor control circuits using test meters is a must.
The position is full time with ample opportunities for overtime and call out.
Living within an hour of the facility to be able to respond to trouble calls in a timely manner is a must.

You will be trusted to:
Ability to work Alone or in a team situation
Responsible for communicating ideas and thoughts in a clear and concise manner to supervision and peers
Analyze test meters to troubleshoot electrical issues from simple to complex systems
Ability to read and understand prints, schematics, operating manuals
Ensure to work in a safe manner personally and follow safety rules pertaining to LOTO and safety rule book
You qualify with:
Four or more years of experience in maintenance and/or construction of electrical power generation, transmission, distribution, substation and control equipment, and/or other types of electrical equipment, including experience reading blueprints or other relevant experience.
A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, industrial maintenance or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
Driver's license required for incumbents assigned to the dam & hydro function.
Class A Texas commercial driver's license or equivalent from another state required for incumbents with heavy equipment operation and transportation responsibilities.
You are a great fit with:
Four or more years of experience working in the electrical field
Prior experience working in an industrial facility maintaining large electrical motors, breakers, electronic motor protection relays, MCC bucket troubleshooting, motor soft starters experience, AC motor drive experience, ability to safely operate forklifts, man lifts, cranes and other vehicles as needed
