Level 2 Automation Engineer

Job Details Division: Nucor Steel Texas Location: Jewett, TX, United States Other Available Locations: N/A Basic Job Functions: The role of the Level 2 Automation Engineer is primarily, but not limited to: 1) Improve Safety 2) Support Manufacturing and Maintenance Operations 3) Focus on continuous improvement of our technical knowledge and skills 4) Ensure high reliability for our Technological Infrastructure to drive business results.
5) Work with the Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance and Production teams to maintain and optimize the Mill processes.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science; Process, Electrical, or Automation Engineering; or equivalent work experience in automation and controls.
Thorough understanding of Control System Theory.
Ethernet Network Setup and Troubleshooting.
Proven experience in software development for high availability applications.
Experience with configuration, programming, and database administration for Oracle or MSSQL.
Ability to work or travel on an as needed basis, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in Hardware, Software, Network, Virtualization & Infrastructure.
5+ years of experience working on Level 2 systems in an industrial environment.
3+ years of experience working on Manufacturing Execution Systems.
PLC programming experience (Siemens, Allen Bradley).
Industrial Network Experience in design, installation, configuration, and monitoring.
Experience in AI, Machine Learning, Big Data, and IoT for Manufacturing Environment.
