JOB SUMMARY
The Facility Maintenance position’s primary job function is responsible for keeping the Facility clean and in good running order.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Paint and perform repairs to masonry, woodwork, plumbing, electrical and furnishings of buildings.
Paint and Perform minor repairs to Production equipment
Ground maintenance activities to include mowing lawns, trimming hedges, removing weeds, raking and disposing of leaves and refuse.
Emptying outside and inside trash barrels as needed, keeping parking lot and external drains free of leaves and debris.
Pressure washing exterior and interior building and sidewalks as needed
Maintain all lighting fixtures, replace bulbs and make repairs as needed.
Set up and organize regular schedules for changing AC filters, cleaning ice machine and painting.
Move, store, and/or dispose of furniture as required.
Perform basic electrical work, and assist in highly skilled electrical work
Perform welding and plumbing repairs.
Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Identify and report equipment abnormalities and safety hazards
Perform other related duties as assigned and support the Maintenance team
Maintain accurate record keeping such as: work orders, time sheets, and parts requests
SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or general education certification.
Basic Computer skills
Ability to speak and communicate effectively utilizing the English language.
Mechanical or electrical experience
Required: 0 – 1-year related experience
Prior electro-mechanical experience a plus
Proficient in performing equipment preventive maintenance.
Able to diagnose equipment faults and malfunctions.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations (LOTO, Arc Flash, working from heights, etc)
Must be able to work in a fast paced, high-volume environment, and have a strong attention to detail.
Must be a proactive “self-starter.
”
Must have mechanical aptitude.
Lean 5S and/or other Six Sigma experience is a plus.
Dependability and the ability to adapt to change are essential.
Ability to operate powered lift equipment (forklift, wave picker, hoists, etc.
).
Requires forklift certification or ability to become forklift certified.
INTER-RELATIONSHIPS
Direction is given by Maintenance Supervisor.
Will interface with maintenance team members, production workers and administrative staff.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a general manufacturing environment or distribution center environment.
Seasonal temperatures may be extreme at times including excessive heat or cold.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have the ability to use hands and fingers to complete tasks quickly and efficiently.
In addition, must have the ability to move freely throughout the facility without physical imitation, and capacity to stand for long periods of time (at least 4 hours at a time) and can bend, stoop and reach.
Have normal eye/hand motor coordination and the ability to grasp and hold small objects.
Possess a normal extended reach.
Consistently uses manual dexterity.
Can determine color acuity.
Must be able to transport, lift, and demonstrate materials, products and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
