Position Summary: Manufacturing schedulers perform various functions in making sure that production processes in a manufacturing company are properly organized and scheduled to cut down production costs and efficiently utilize available raw materials and deliver products to customers on time.
Job Description:
• Plans and establishes production schedules based on customer orders and forecasted demand
• Monitor plant capacity to ensure the optimal level of production capabilities are available to meet customer and forecasted demand
• Create Process Routings to set up appropriate work flow in Work Centers and overall plant
• Understands cost impact of changing BOMs and Routings as well as impact on production orders, inventory values, and variances
• Coordinate activities with Engineering, Sales, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Manufacturing personnel as necessary to keep each informed of potential problems and opportunities
• Release and schedule Work Orders for “make” items
• Determine stocking and replenishment levels for “make” items
• Strong analytical and decision-making ability
• Completes daily review of reports to ensure information maintained within the database is timely and accurate
Preferred Education and Experience:
• Associate degree or equivalent
• If no degree, 3 + years scheduling experience in Manufacturing
• 3+ years’ experience in Manufacturing environment working with BOMs & Routings with hands on responsibility in Materials Planning, Production activity control/Capacity Planning, MRP and Scheduling related functions
• 3+ years’ experience with ERP, BOM’s and Process Routing software systems
• Knowledge and understanding of Manufacturing processes, Planning, Shop Floor Control, and Job Costing
• Proficient with Excel, Word, Outlook
• APICS Certification is a plus
