Job Title Database Administrator II Agency Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service Department Network & Information Services Proposed Minimum Salary $6,636.
75 monthly Job Location College Station, Texas Job Type Staff Job Description The Database Administrator II is responsible for all functions associated with the design, implementation and maintenance of SQL Server databases to include security, back-up, logging, reporting and recovery procedures.
In addition, this position supports the installation, configuration, security, operation, and maintenance of all sql servers.
Installs, configures, and maintains the agency's Databases, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power Bi and Azure Devops systems/services.
This position reports to the IT Manager.
Please note: Although this position is eligible for telecommuting, it is required to work at our Headquarters (College Station, TX) for the first year.
If selected as a finalist and required to relocate, please note that relocation expenses will not be covered by our organization.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's from an accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years of related work experience in data management.
Must be a U.
S.
Citizen due to data security, and contract requirements.

** Required Licenses/Certifications Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Preferred Qualifications: Three years of professional MS SQL administration experience.
One year of experience with MS SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
One year of related experience in data warehousing concepts, including design, development, testing and debugging.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain stationary for extended periods of time consistent with office work.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Intermediate knowledge of SQL.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft SQL server.
Intermediate knowledge of database provisioning, backup/recovery, logging, security, and structure.
Working knowledge of database performance monitoring/tuning.
Working knowledge in data warehousing concepts and techniques.
Working knowledge of SSAS and SSRS.
Working knowledge of Azure Devops.
Knowledge and experience of security and performance considerations.
Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Equipment: Standard office equipment: computer, telephone, multifunctional printer.

This position may require work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.
This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TEEX regulations and procedures.
All tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and Agency safety requirements.
As part of TEEX’s mission of providing training, developing practical solutions, and saving lives; this position could be required, if called upon, to deploy within the State of Texas as directed by this position’s Division Director/HQ Department Head.
Ability to travel independently to other and/or remote locations by driving a personal or TEEX vehicle and/or flying on commercial airlines.
This position allows telecommuting per TEEX guidelines.
Essential Duties, Tasks, and Percentages: SQL Administration – 60% Responsible for all functions associated with the implementation and maintenance of SQL Server databases including security, back-up, logging, reporting and recovery procedures.
Assists developers with design of database structure.
Manages all technical aspects of the databases and processes Manage data from multiple sources including internal, external, and 3rd party data Assist in maintaining database.
Performs daily, weekly, and monthly data maintenance tasks.
Ensures data can be provided to support various reporting requirements.
Assists in client support and setup configurations and configuration of applications database.
Tests various internal applications and commercial apps.
Assists developers and end users with database-related issues or requirements.
Creates and maintains documentation on database related procedures.
Tests and installs SQL-related patches on all TEEX servers within 30 days of patch release.
Provides support after hours for mission critical issues when necessary.
SSIS/SSAS /SSRS Administration – 20% Responsible for all functions associated with the implementation and maintenance of MS SSIS, MS SSAS and MS SSRS.
Troubleshoots, develops, writes, and maintains packages, scripts, and data sets, as well as technical documentation based on business and functional requirements.
Customer Support – 10% Assists other technical staff members or users in providing solutions to issues or problems.
Assists in planning/testing/implementing the Disaster Recovery procedures.
Participates in strategic planning and development associated with future design, performance, and capacity management.
Azure Devops Administration – 5% Responsible for the configuration and maintenance of Azure DevOps, the software development platform used by developers for source control, project management and CI/CD.
Responsible for maintaining existing process workflows, the creation and management of collections, and CI/CD automated deployment pipelines.
Power Bi Administration – 5% Responsible for the Installation, configuration and maintenance of Power Bi, the primary reporting platform for TEEX.
Responsible for maintaining existing process workflows and software updates.
Other Duties: Collaborates closely with lead developers and NIS team on projects.
Participates in project management processes.
Participates and presents projects in staff, team, and client meetings.
Positively interacts with clients and fellow staff members.
Participates in professional development activity per year as agreed to by the supervisor.
