We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cable Installer to join our team.
The Cable Installer will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various types of cable systems, including data, telecommunications, access points, and audio-visual cables.
The ideal candidate should possess strong technical skills, a thorough understanding of cabling standards, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Must have experience and be comfortable working from a lift.
Cable Installer MUST have experience working with various cables that include, but are not limited to twisted pair, coax, Category 5, Category 6, single and multi-mode fiber optic cables.
Cable installation includes pulling, placement, terminating, testing, and labeling.
BICSI cert (current or past) a plus, but not needed.
IDF/MDF, rack install, fiber termination and testing experience a plus.
We are looking for individuals who will pay attention to detail and work efficiently under minimal supervision.
Job Responsibilities:
Install and configure various types of cable systems, including data, voice, video, and fiber-optic cables, in educational, commercial, and industrial settings.
Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine cable routing and placement.
Utilize specialized tools and equipment to measure, cut, strip, and terminate cables according to industry standards.
Mount and secure cable support structures, such as racks, trays, and conduits, ensuring proper cable management and organization.
Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand installation requirements and timelines.
Test and troubleshoot installed cables and connections to ensure proper functionality and compliance with specifications.
Perform cable splicing, splicing enclosure installations, and cable terminations as needed.
Rack and stack of network switches as needed
Installing support structures (ladders, racks, j-hooks)
Document all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities accurately and thoroughly.
Maintain a neat and organized work area and always adhere to safety protocols.
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, concerns, and requests professionally and promptly.
Keep up-to-date with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in cable installation.
Must be comfortable working from scissor/boom lifts if required.
Working potentially after 5pm as project demands.
Weekends may sometimes be required.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in cable installation are a plus
1+ years’ experience installing and servicing voice and data systems in a commercial environment or 1+ years’ experience of work in a structured cabling environment preferred
Terminating Cable: 1 year (Preferred)
Ability to lift 70 lbs
Working after hours and weekends
Must have valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation

Ability to follow assigned task expectations on a daily basis
Physical stamina and ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces and at heights.
Familiarity with BICSI, EIA, TIA or NEC Standards.
