Knife River has an excellent opportunity for a Financial Analyst!
This Regional position will be based in the Bryan/College Station area.
Provides accounting and analytical support in the verification, control and processing of work activities including analysis and reporting of financial transactions and statistics.
Coordinates and prepares supplemental financial data and analysis for management and operations personnel.
Assists in daily activities, reconciliations, and analysis necessary to perform financial accounting monthly close processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Must meet Knife River-South employment standards with regards to background/MVR checks.
- Must have a “safety first” attitude.
Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One to three years of related experience preferred but will consider recent graduates.
- Accounting or financial analysis experience in construction materials supply industry is preferred.
- Excellent analytical and financial skills.
- Microsoft Excel super user – ability to create and modify pivot tables, macros, etc.
- Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and presentation abilities.
- Must be reliable and dependable during crucial accounting periods, i.
e.
, month, quarter, and year end close.
- Must maintain confidentiality of financial data.
- Must be adaptable and able to multitask and manage priorities in periods of peak volume.
- May require overtime from time to time to meet deadlines.
- Maintain composure under pressure and meet deadlines with great attention to detail of deliverables.
Key Skills & Competencies
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provides accounting and analytical support in the processing and reporting of financial transactions.
- Prepares statistical data of daily, monthly, quarterly and annual financial results.
- Assists in the preparation of daily, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
- Assists in the preparation of financial and operating plans and plan updates.
- Provides assistance and analysis on special projects or other financial activities on an ad hoc basis.
- Adheres to accounting controls and procedures.
- Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process.
- Assist Operations and Plant Managers to enable process improvements and provide accurate financial data to collaboratively make business decisions.
- Support data analysis for Sales team as needed.
- Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
- Communicate effectively and professionally at all times with co-workers, plant personnel and external partners.
- Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
- Travel may be required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
