Position Description
Arbin Instruments is seeking a full-time Technical Writer to join our sales and marketing department.
Reporting to the Europe/US Sales Manager, the Technical Writer will collect and organize information to create helpful content for internal and external audiences.
This role will require exceptional written communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics briefly and precisely.
As Arbin’s Technical Writer, your objective will be to compose, update, and optimize various technical documents to clarify the value and benefits of Arbin’s battery testing solutions.
Along with writing content for a highly technical industry and organization, the Technical Writer will be involved in developing Arbin’s documentation strategies and practices.
Through communication with engineers, developers, support, and customers, you will help identify information gaps in individual documents and our content library.
The Technical Writer will also use keen attention to detail to build consistency into our content by implementing standard practices and a style guide.
Major Areas of Responsibility
Create straightforward, useful content for audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge
Gather and organize technical information through research and subject-matter experts (SMEs)
Draft and edit technical content, including white papers, application notes, and manuals
Evaluate and develop the technical documentation process and identify technical content needs.
Additional Responsibilities
Information Gathering
Develop a thorough understanding of the energy storage industry, and especially Arbin’s hardware, software, and data products
Work closely with engineering, software, and support teams to gather product information
Research and communicate with external SMEs as required for specific content needs
Assist in the organization and cataloging of collected information, including information for product releases
Technical Writing, Editing, and Structure
Explain complex information accurately and concisely for technical and non-technical audiences
Outline and draft white papers, app notes, and technical content from engineering documents
Edit and format instructional materials, including software manuals and technical guides
Assist with layout and structure of technical content, marketing materials, and other documents
