As a Construction Materials Engineering and Testing Intern at Gessner Engineering, you will assist the department in completion of a variety of CMT/CoMET projects.
Your specific responsibilities are commensurate with experience and the expected learning outcomes.
Duties & Responsibilities
Aid team in field service requests
Assisting lab crew with performing lab testing.
Collaborate with peers to review and request or provide guidance on appropriate project direction
Draft lab and field reports for project manager review and approval
Collaborate in a team setting with department members and other design disciplines such as civil, structural, and external sub-consultants and clients, as necessary, for project coordination.
Provide regular project updates and a forecast of obstacles to a supervising project manager
Qualifications
Education
Must be actively enrolled as a junior, senior or graduate student working towards a Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in an accredited engineering program.
Must possess at least a 3.
0 GPA
Experience/Skills
Ability to lift 50lbs, bend, stoop, and work in varying weather conditions across varying terrain
A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for the past 3 years
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions with precise execution
Basic computer operation skills and familiarity with internet-based program navigation
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage numerous assignments simultaneously
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentially and professionalism
High attention to detail
Ability to clearly and professionally communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals and groups
