Description
As a Construction Materials Engineering and Testing Intern at Gessner Engineering, you will assist the Department in their daily operations.
Your specific responsibilities are commensurate with experience and the expected learning outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Aid team in field service requests
Assisting lab crew with performing lab testing.
Collaborate with peers to review and request or provide guidance on appropriate project direction
Draft lab and field reports for project manager review and approval
Collaborate in a team setting with department members and other design disciplines such as civil, structural, and external sub-consultants and clients, as necessary, for project coordination.
Provide regular project updates and a forecast of obstacles to a supervising project manager
Education/ Experience:
Currently enrolled or recently graduated from an accredited engineering program
Skills and special requirements/licensing:
Ability to lift 50lbs, bend, stoop, and work in varying weather conditions across varying terrain
A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for the past 3 years
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions with precise execution.
Basic computer operation skills and familiarity with internet-based program navigation
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage numerous assignments simultaneously.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentially and professionalism.
High attention to detail
Ability to interact with clients, managers, and employees with a high level of professionalism.
Must be able to work 20 hours a week per semester
