Job description DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES In this role you will be responsible for leading the Procurement and Purchasing Team for PlyGem.
Work closely with Manufacturing, Sales & Operations Planning, and Scheduling to align supply plans with production plans to ensure an efficient balance between inventory, cost, and customer fulfillment Maintain relationships with suppliers while partnering with the Sourcing COE to stay aligned on strategic initiatives and cost management Evaluate planning and purchasing operations while seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased and the timeliness of deliveries Communicate with management regularly regarding the efficient flow of goods and services affecting production Drive actions to resolve supply issues that impact our customers urgently including reporting, supplier recovery planning and monitoring, and finding and executing alternative supply opportunities Identify effective methods to consolidate freight without creating excess inventories Developing risk management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of product shortages Supervise a purchasing and procurement team and delegating tasks across departments when necessary Working closely with the Sourcing COE to make sure contracts and terms are favorable Performing inventory management in partnership with other stakeholders and control inputs to align with the inventory plan Lead team to efficiently plan for incoming demands at the item level and process purchase requests Work with AP and aid in resolution of supplier payment issues, invoice matching, and related systems and processes Qualifications Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Purchasing Management or a related degree of study A minimum 5-7 years of Procurement and or Purchasing experience Strong analytical skills Skilled planner with strong time management and prioritization skills Effective Conflict Resolution and Prioritization experience Strong verbal & written communication skills A strategic mindset with a sense of urgency and a proactive approach Must be able to lead meetings & write technically oriented reports and presentations High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (to include Pivot Tables) / Word / Outlook/ PowerPoint Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and team player Strong Market and Industry knowledge Experience with ERP systems (Oracle) a plus Videos To Watch Job location Cornerstone Building Brands is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
