Summary:
The Engineering Intern will provide, with support and supervision, engineering support to the operations, maintenance, and project management groups of the Bryan manufacturing facility during the summer of 2024.
This position’s efforts are towards assisting with the mission of continually improving the overall efficiency and utilization of the production process and execution of capital projects.
Responsibilities:
Assist in providing engineering support to the engineering group as well as other departments including HSE, quality, operations and maintenance
Assist members/teams within the organization to identify, analyze and drive continuous improvement projects/activities.
Monitor product quality and process capability using key performance indicators and other statistical methods.
Assist with providing troubleshooting and technical directions to manufacturing regarding continuous improvement.
Assist in investigating, troubleshooting and initiating corrective measures regarding plant maintenance problems.
Assist with providing equipment repairs/upgrades as well as improving maintenance processes and strategies.
Assist with execution of capital projects for the Bryan/Chickasha manufacturing facility.
Work with team members to ensure capital projects are designed and constructed in a safe and environmentally friendly manner by participating in safety reviews
Ensure adherence to applicable engineering codes, standards and engineering best practices in project design/installation.
Ensure own safety by following documented operating procedures of the Bryan manufacturing facility.
Support, use and maintain systems associated with Management of Change, Process Safety Management, Root Cause Analysis, drawing management, etc.
Assist in the development/update/maintenance of technical documents, procedures and processes pertaining to the site’s manufacturing process, mechanical integrity, and capital projects
Skills & Competencies:
Possess creative and innovative strengths and be able to see the big picture as well as think outside the box to problem solve
Strong communication, interpersonal, writing/listening skills required - presentation skills preferred
Planning and organizational ability required
Team player focused on working in a cross functional team environment to contribute to the organization and achieve results
Proficient in related computer applications such as Microsoft Office – experience with process monitoring software and AutoCAD a plus
Education & Experience:
Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or related degree
