The Position: The Production Supervisor will be responsible for carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable Federal and State laws.
The individual in this position will lead a team of production personnel and will ensure that all personnel are trained and knowledgeable in safety regulations and best practices for the production process at Del Sol.
This individual will also oversee all planning, assigning and directing of work for production line employees.
The Production Supervisor will also ensure optimal production performance and a clean, well-maintained facility, and will create, modify, and enhance a robust program for the company.
**The regular working hours for this position are 5:30am - 4:30pm.
This person will also need to have the flexibility to work irregular hours and weekends as needed.
Position Responsibilities: Ensure the safety of products through enforcement of HACCP requirements, Standard Operating Procedures, Sanitation Operating Procedures, and GMP's.
Ensure that all company, customer, Federal, State, and local laws and policies and procedures are Maintain high levels of sanitation, housekeeping, and product quality.
Supervise employees on daily operations.
Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.
Perform audits to verify knowledge transfer and adherence to training.
Work with the HR department on team member staffing, care, discipline, etc.
; properly documenting team member activities for attendance and discipline.
Assist maintenance staff with maintenance of production equipment as required.
Supervise daily manpower planning, including assignment of responsibilities and production lines.
Fill in as a machine operator when needed.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment by training and directing personnel on the use of all safety policies, control points, equipment, and resources while maintaining compliance with established laws, policies, and procedures.
Conduct audits to verify procedures are being followed.
Hold monthly department safety meetings and follow up on all issues.
Carry out Monthly Area Specific GMP/SOP Plant Self Audits.
Responsible for reporting any and all food safety and quality problems to QA and/or Plant Manager.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
3+ years in a manufacturing environment required.
3+ years supervising 30+ employees required.
Experience operating equipment in the food manufacturing industry required.
Knowledge of OSHA and other federal regulations required.
Knowledge of HACCP, Auditing, SOP;s GMP's, and FDA required.
Experience with packaging/high speed production consumer products required.
Experience in the food/baking manufacturing industry preferred.
Proven achievements of improvement in the workplace required.
Ability to work irregular hours such as nights, weekends, or holidays as needed.
Must be able to travel as needed up to 5-10% of the time.
Must be able to work with and lead outside contractors.
Desired Skills and Competencies: Must work proactively with all departments in the company.
Ability to lead, train, and develop team members.
Must be a teachable leader with a positive attitude and mindset.
