The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for leading, identifying and implementing the MIC Group Quality initiatives at the supplier level, utilizing elements and Company procedures established from the AS9100 Rev D requirements.
This position requires Leadership ability to be a strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborator, critical Risk-Based thinker.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Drive supplier quality objectives throughout MIC Group’s supplier base to ensure a high degree of product conformance.
• Ensure utilization of quality system procedures and processes to maintain high standards of quality and reliability.
• Implement new techniques for the control of quality and reliability as directed by the Quality Manager.
• Understanding of inventory movements.
• Collect data, analyze and report on performance of Supplier quality systems.
• Create and maintain a relationship with suppliers to address and eliminate non-conformities.
• Conduct regular supplier audits.
• Liaison between parties on matters relating to plant/supplier quality.
(Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Supplier).
• Provide technical support to the Manufacturing and Engineering departments concerning supplier quality.
• Understands the customer’s and Company quality expectations and assists in determining significant characteristics and appropriate controls for suppliers to meet expectations.
• Provide supplier data to support the Company Approved Vendor List (AVL).
• Initiate and resolve all supplier Corrective Actions utilizing 8D / 5-Why methodologies, including measure of effectiveness.
• Reporting relationship will be directly to the MIC Group Quality Manager with dotted line professional guidance to Director of Supply Chain.
• Assist and document in PPAP inspections.
• Creation of Executive Level data Reports.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS • Four-year technical degree.
• 3-5 years of experience in a Supplier Quality Engineering role.
• Experience in manufacturing of precision machined and fabricated complex hardware.
• Understanding of Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis (DFMEA), Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA) or Six Sigma concepts.
• Ability to drive technical discussions with internal and external teams and suppliers in each of the manufacturing/installation sites as defined per project.

• Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications, ability to create Excel spreadsheets, analyze data and draw a summary conclusion from data.
• Must be available to travel up to 60%.
• Possess, or be able to get, a US passport for international travel.
