Position Description
Overall Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Technician performs duties under the direction of the Maintenance Manager.
Works independently to perform maintenance, repair, and/or modification of the plant’s manufacturing, mechanical and electrical systems.
Is involved in fabrication, application, installation, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment as well as the installation of conduit and wiring.
Ensures that all operating equipment and plant facilities are maintained in an effective and safe operating condition.
Essential Job Functions:
Must perform all aspects of their position with safety as the top priority.

Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot all systems associated with a wide variety of production equipment, building and facility maintenance.

Responsible for production maintenance, project work, and other work as assigned.

Must have a working knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems up to and including 480VAC.

Work individually or with team members and maintain a positive work environment.
?
Ability to follow specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings.
?
Must have excellent diagnostic skills for troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.

Install and repair electrical systems and components of industrial machinery using hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
?
Actively participate in Continuous Improvement activities and initiatives.
??
Must be able to safely operate equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts for overhead work.
?
Millwright’s abilities (welding, pipefitting, and the use of shop equipment) are a plus.
Ability to climb ladders.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of maintenance technician experience in a manufacturing environment or similar position.

Experience working on mechanical and/or electrical equipment (installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting).

Understanding of electrical circuits and pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Will need to be able to work over-time as required.
?
Be dependable with a commitment to attendance and punctuality.
?
Be able to work well with others in a plant environment including weekends (if necessary).
?
Valid driver’s license.
?
PLC troubleshooting / welding / machining skills a plus.

Normal working hours are 5:00AM – 4PM Monday-Thursday with Fridays if required.
Physical Requirements
Tolerance for standing and sitting for long periods of time.
Possess finger dexterity to write, type, and use a calculator.
Maintain adequate vision to view small print and/or computer terminal.
Ability to speak and hear, walk throughout facilities with occasional light lifting (25 pounds), stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching with hands and arms required.
