*Key Responsibilities and Duties:* * Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all equipment to meet or exceed company established Overall Equipment Effectiveness expectations and customer quality expectations.
* Proactive in addressing inefficiencies of production equipment.
* Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical and process problems with equipment as needed.
* Use power tool equipment in a safe manner to avoid injury or harm to self or other employees.
* Perform scheduled Preventative Maintenance tasks.
* Evaluate production report comments prior to performing maintenance to ensure all causes for production inefficiencies are addressed and corrected.
* Continually evaluate equipment for improvement areas.
Tag components or parts that need repair, replacement or improvement.
* Perform scheduled production equipment mold changeovers as outlined by Production Manager.
* Perform building maintenance as needed.
* Maintain sufficient records including work orders and parts management.
* Coordinate with Production Manager as it relates to production equipment training and employee development.
* Operate Powered Industrial Truck, Boom Lift and Scissor Lift per OSHA regulations rules and guidelines.
* Read machine assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams for troubleshooting purposes.
* Adjust mechanical assemblies and control systems to correct machine malfunctions.
* Design and fabricate replacement parts for production equipment.
* Work with department leadership to analyze machine failures and develop plans to reduce downtime.
* Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from machine manuals and operators to diagnose equipment problems.
* Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
* Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
* Assist in the installation of new and used equipment as instructed by supervisor.
* Identification and proper storage of spare parts * Responsible for performing other tasks as instructed by Supervisor or Manager.
* Coordinate with vendors and technical support via phone and email when necessary * Must react promptly and act quickly, based on a continuous production setting, since any breakdown will result in reduced productivity and company performance.
* Monitor the implementation of OSHA safety regulations and standards, ensuring a safe, neat, and clean workspace.
* Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on, motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
* Follow all employer safety and health regulations as required by company policies, procedures and practices, and OSHA Regulations.
*Experience, Educational and Technical Qualifications:* \* Possess a sense of urgency, accountability, business ethics, professionalism, self-motivation and the desire and focus to improve the business.
\* High School Diploma or GED equivalent and other technical certifications and training applicable to servicing industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment.
\* Minimum 4 years “hands-on” work experience as a maintenance technician on industrial production manufacturing equipment.
*Skills & Abilities:* * Must have proficient communications skills both verbal and written.
* Proficiency with PLC’s: Allen-Bradley, etc.
* Must have proficient problem-solving skills.
* Able to use DMM to check AC/DC voltage, current, resistance, test components.
* Familiar in both mechanical, fluid power, and electrical principals.
Firm understanding of Ohm’s law.
* Familiar with Pneumatics-solenoid valves, actuators and controls.
* Familiar with Hydraulics-directional valves, actuators and power systems * Familiar with electronic components and assemblies.
* Understanding of 3-phase power and machine control circuitry * Understanding of lock-out/tag-out procedures * Skilled in the use of tool room machinery such as, Lathe, Drill Press, Band Saw, and other metal working machinery.
* Ability to weld is a plus: MIG and/or TIG weld.
* Experience (and ability) to drive a forklift.
* Hand eye coordination and manual dexterity.
* Ability to stand, bend, sit, stoop to perform duties.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $20.
