We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to oversee the design, development, and support of complex electronic power systems for the defense/aerospace industry.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Design enclosures, structures, cooling systems, components, assemblies, assembly fixtures, and/or test fixtures using applicable military and industry standards and specifications.
* Lead design reviews of detailed models, drawings, BOMs, and other engineering documents to ensure successful manufacturing and implementation of HDL products.
* Develop new processes and streamline existing HDL manufacturing practices to support the acquisition of new business.
* Modify existing products to meet internal or external customer requirements.
* Perform thermal and structural finite element analysis on components and assemblies to ensure design compliance with customer requirements.
Confirm model validity with test data and relevant hand calculations when appropriate.
* Present mechanical designs during customer-facing reviews.
* Coordinate with HDL production and machine shop teams to support manufacturing requirements.
* Provide technical support to customers and associates.
Qualifications:
* US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status.
* BS in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
* Minimum 0-2 years of related experience.
* 3D CAD modeling experience; Autodesk Inventor preferred.
* Knowledge of ANSYS, ANSYS APDL, or equivalent FEA (Abaqus, MSC Nastran/Patran) preferred.
* Knowledge of ASME drafting standards, particularly GD&T per ASME Y14.

* Proficiency in MATLAB or Python is a plus.
