edu/about/ What we want The UC Events Worker is responsible for the set-up and other preparations for meetings and conferences at University Center Complex and other areas.

Position Details: Must be willing and able to work evenings, weekends, and special events as necessary.
This position is an evening-based position that works during the academic school year from 3:30 pm to 12:30 am with an hour off for lunch.
The days off with be two consecutive days but may not be Saturday and/or Sunday.
Able to lift and/or move heavy equipment Qualifications Required Education: High school graduation or equivalent combination of education and experience Required Experience: Two years in building, machinery, and/or equipment maintenance, installation and repair work or materials handling or warehouse operations, or landscape irrigation systems Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others Ability to comprehend instructions Preferred Experience: Two years working in the event industry setting up tables, chairs, and equipment for meetings, conferences, etc.
Responsibilities Event setup and teardown - Performs set up and break down of various types of meetings (workshops, conferences, lectures, lunches & dinners, and other special events).
This includes lifting tables and chairs, bending and reaching above shoulders, loading/unloading, stacking tables and chairs, and pushing carts of tables and chairs.
This work takes place indoors and outdoors.
Responsible for ensuring work orders are fulfilled to customer expectations Customer Service - Provide excellent customer services to our clients, guests, and tenants that occupy the facilities that make up the University Center Complex.
Be present 15 minutes prior to the start of events to unlock the rooms Try to answer or find the answer to any questions the client might have.
Provides on-site customer liaison during events Events - Is responsible for inspection of building sets.
Responsible for reporting deficiencies to supervisors.
Performs minor preventative maintenance, repairs, and service work on event specific chairs, tables, and staging Miscellaneous - Puts out signs, occasionally loads, and unloads trucks, and cleans out storage facilities Why Texas A&M University?
