edu/ What we want The Database Administrator IV is responsible for EIS databases, application servers, and related systems.
Provides technical leadership for the installation, upgrade, maintenance, and disaster recovery of mission-critical databases and middle-tier servers.
Oversees the development and implementation of security procedures and system performance measures.
Serve as a senior technical consultant in support of EIS database management systems, providing consulting, technical support, and training to users and technical staff.

What you need to know Salary: Commensurate on selected candidate's experience Other Requirements or Other Factors: May be required to work evenings, weekends, and/or on-call support Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience Eight years of related experience in database architecture and administration Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others Strong interpersonal communications skills Must be able to work in a collaborative environment Preferred Education and Experience: Master’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field Oracle and/or Banner Experience in an Academic environment Preferred Licenses and Certifications: Oracle certified professional Responsibilities: Technical Leadership - Provide technical leadership for planning, organizing, and controlling the activities related to database applications systems in very complex enterprise information system environment.
Plan, install, monitor, tune, and manage enterprise database systems.
Develop, implement and test database backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures.
Perform capacity planning and recommend proactive solutions.
Core Duties - Participate in mentoring, training, and development of other employees.
Develop and maintain specifications, documentation, and reports on the enterprise environment, processes, procedures, activities, and projects.
Consult with an assist computing personnel, vendors and/or manufacturer’s representatives in resolving complex procedural, operational, and technical problems.
Serve as a chair or senior member of an information resource team responsible for setting technical standards and direction.
Perform all or some of the duties of a Lead Database Administrator.
Oversee the Performance Monitoring of the Database - Oversee the performance monitoring of the database systems and recovery of system outages.
Coordinate the resolution of performance problems and recover from system outages.
Consulting - Serve as senior technical consultant with broad consulting responsibility to include coordination with personnel assigned to other departments.
Recommend software products and programming languages based on evaluation of their strategic applicability to the University’s systems and projects.
Coordination - Coordinate the development, implementation, and documentation of security procedures and data standards.
Plan & Execute Upgrades - Plan and execute upgrades and patches for application software and supporting products.
Professional Development - Participate in training and professional development sessions.
Backup and On-call Support - Provide backup and on-call support for the database team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
