GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: Provide quality assurance for chemical batches, assist with product development, and provide assistance to mixing and packaging facilities as needed to resolve quality assurance problems.
Reports to Quality Manager.
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES:
1) Interface with manufacturing personnel.
2) Perform hourly quality control checks of all operational production lines (liquid, aerosol, and silkscreen).
Keep organized and legible records during these checks.
3) Perform startup quality control checks on all aerosol and liquid lines as a backup to qc chemist.
4) Perform quality control analysis including approval and rejection of incoming raw materials, labels, wipes, etc.
5) Perform quality control analysis on mixes and finished goods using established test procedures, wet chemistry, approve and reject based on QC parameters.
6) Operate and maintain all lab equipment in proper working order.
Perform calibration of equipment when required.
7) Communicate production issues to Production Supervisor and/or Operations Director.
8) Assign lot numbers to batch tickets as needed.
9) Generate Certificates of Analysis/Certificates of Compliance for finished goods.
10) Maintain completed work order files (paperless system).
11) Maintain internal production quality issues spreadsheet.
12) Maintain laboratory areas in accordance with established housekeeping (clean and organized) and safety standards.
13) Maintain retain samples in an organized manner of annual rotation, every two years for EPA registered products and every three years for FDA registered products.
Sort and discard samples after storage time has been met.
14) Perform moisture analysis of solvents, raw materials, and finished goods using the K-F auto titrator.
15) Assist QC Chemist in CPAR investigations when needed.
16) Assist as directed with R&D and product development efforts.
17) Assist with annual inventory.
18) Read detailed instructions or documents, summarize and convey information either verbally or written to varied audiences ranging from a line team member to corporate officers
19) Serve as backup for QC Chemist in their absence.
20) Any other duties or projects which may be assigned by supervisor.
