Blue Bell Creameries has three plants of which manufacture ice cream.
We currently have opportunities for a *Facilities Maintenance Technician* to join our Snack Section at the Brenham, TX location.
The candidates should have great attention to detail, work in a team setting, and enjoy the challenges that a dynamic food manufacturing facility has to offer.
*POSITION SUMMARY:*
Perform preventative maintenance on plant production equipment, as well as troubleshooting, repairing of equipment and machinery while adhering to all safety rules and regulations.
Also, be responsible for performing a combination of tasks including repairing and maintaining pumps, motors, heat exchangers and other mechanical equipment.
Be able to work a 45-hour work week.
Be willing to work some Saturdays and Holidays.
Must be able to work with and learn from others in a team environment.
Some work in the cold storage areas will also be required.
*PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:*
*Technician Functions*
* Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance of equipment, machinery, valves, piping systems and structures.
* Maintain documentation and catalogue data for various systems while adhering to safety guidelines.
* Troubleshoot machine operation, perform equipment maintenance and ensure good housekeeping practices are followed in all shop areas.
*REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:*
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* 5 years' maintenance experience and/or training is a plus.
* Excellent troubleshooting skills, mechanical aptitude is required, basic math skills are preferred and must know how to read a tape measure.
* Some basic lubrication / electrical / mechanical / preventive maintenance experience is a plus.
* Shop tool skills and knowledge such as: Drill press / Bandsaw / Bead Blaster / Hand tools / Shop welding equipment are a plus.
