Job Summary: The Executive Director of Operations is a senior management position within St.
Mary's Catholic Center.
This position requires this individual to bring to the job a thorough understanding of the mission of the St.
Mary's Catholic Center Campus Ministry at Texas A&M University.
This position facilitates the attainment of the parish mission and related strategic planning goals and objectives of the parish through administrative responsibilities.
The position reports to the Pastor and operates with latitude for the use of independent judgment and initiative, and must demonstrate responsiveness to the needs of the pastor and associate pastor, the pastoral staff, and the congregation of St.
Mary's.
Ministerial Character The Pastor is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the Parish St.
Mary's Catholic Center which the Bishop has entrusted to him.
He makes Christ's mission present and enduring in the parish.
In order to fulfill his mission, the Pastor employs suitable, chosen collaborators (clerics, religious, or lay people).
He shares with them his mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.
Positions employed at St.
Mary's Catholic Center help to extend the ministry of the Pastor in particular ways as outlined in the job description.
Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the Pastor in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the Church.
Essential Job Duties: As an integral part of your ministry for the Church as carried out in this position, support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of All Angels and Saints Catholic Church in both your professional and personal life.
Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Continuously grow in your ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed.
Work with the Pastor, Associate Pastor, Director of Campus Ministry, parish staff, and parish ministry leaders to develop operational plans to carry out the strategic vision for the parish.
Cultivate and supervise a high-performance parish staff with an emphasis on developing capacity in parish services and utilizing best practice standards.
Oversee and direct administrative, business, and financial activities of the parish, including but not limited to budgeting, payment of bills and payroll, bookkeeping.
planning and coordination, construction and improvement projects, and maintenance of the parish census.
Participate in weekly Core Team meetings and meet with his/her staff to share with them decisions made in the Core Team meetings.
Knowledge and experience in Development.
Provide Human Resources support and oversight service to our Human Resources Department.
Work with Facilities/Maintenance on contracts with outside vendors to include planning and coordination of construction and improvement projects.
Ensure campus buildings and facilities are operational and that preventative maintenance schedules are followed.
Serves as an ex officio member of the Finance Council providing financial reports, required updates, and will attend quarterly meetings.
Oversees the Ethics and Integrity in Ministry Coordinator for the parish.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Experience in managing and leading a team.
Skill in communicating with diverse audiences both oral and written.
Ability to create and foster an environment consistent with the parish mission goals.
Skill in effectively leading change and organizational growth through strategic planning.
Knowledge of and skill in using personnel management best practices.
Skill in financial and accounting policies.
Skill in organization, prioritizing, and utilizing time management techniques to carry out multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Familiar with fundraising practices for church or non-profit.
Ability to operate various word-processing software, spreadsheets, and database programs.
Basic knowledge of construction and maintenance and familiarity with safety and security issues.
Familiar with pertinent federal, state, and local laws and regulations and with policies and practices at Texas A&M University insofar as they relate to the activities of the Catholic Center.
Understanding of diocesan systems and policies.
Must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing.
English (proficient in conversing, reading, and writing).
Minimum Qualifications: Education and Trainings: High School Diploma or GED Preferred Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or certificate Or at least 10 years experience specialized experience in the job Experience: Experience in personnel management.
Experience in financial management.
Experience working within the Catholic Community.
Catholic Requirement: Must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing.
Licenses/Certifications: Valid Texas driver's license.
Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies throughout the employment period.
Working Conditions: All employees of the Parish are engaged in ministry and closely tied to the Pastor in the exercise of his ministry and obligations to the church.
The Parish is an at-will employer.
All buildings and vehicles owned by the Parish are tobacco free.
Working in a fast-paced environment with priorities and plans that may change rapidly.
Working on weekends, evenings, and some holidays may be required.
Will be exposed to religious ceremonies, conduct, and speech, including Roman Catholic Christian prayer and liturgical celebrations.
Will be required to adhere to established dress codes and conduct standards.
May be required to use personal or parish vehicle to drive to off-site locations.
Travelling within and outside the parish to meetings and other events may be required, and travel may require overnight lodging.
