POSITION SUMMARY
The Lead Line Cook in the kitchen assists in all details of running the kitchen.
The Lead Line Cook coordinates and ensures that all meals are prepared, cooked, and served in accordance with Messina Hofs recipes so that food quality requirements are met and maintained.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
Maintains inventory (keeping accurate inventory of on-hand items, ordering, and receiving product)
Assist with monthly inventory reconciliations and maintenance of low amount of waste
Establish and maintain vendor relationships
Attend weekly meetings set by Chef for Front of House and weekly Safety Meetings
Maintain overall cleanliness of kitchen and safety procedures (to include monthly safety inspections and first aid kit inventory)
Preparation of meals, banquets, and catering
Kitchen set up - opening & closing procedures
Properly execute food for Restaurant and all events
Assist with maintaining required labor and food costs within budget
Ensure all food production meets the standards set by Messina Hof Chef (including plate presentation, portion control, etc.
) and ensure all recipes and standard operating procedures set by Messina Hof are followed
Perform other duties as required including assisting other departments as needed
Qualifications
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Competency Statement(s)
Related degree and/or 1-3 years of related experience
Ability to use a personal computer
Previous kitchen management experience preferred
Ability to use kitchen equipment safely
Ability to read and follow a recipe
Need to have active TABC and Food Handlers Certificate
