* Work closely with the Executive Director and all departments in an effort to maintain their areas to facilitate the best service and experience possible for guests.
* Work closely with the crew and summer staff to make the work experience a positive time of personal growth for the individuals that have volunteered their time to the camp.
* Relate to the local community in a manner best suited to carry out the public relations policy of Camp Blessing, as presented by the Executive Director.
*Comprehensive Stewardship: * _Manage with integrity the finances, people, buildings and equipment that have been entrusted to our ministry.
_ * Manage with integrity the finances, people, buildings and equipment that have been entrusted to our ministry through the Facilities Department.
* Ensure that staff are being developed and equipped to participate in comprehensive stewardship of the Facilities department.
* Manage and maintain camping equipment and vehicles to provide good service, long life and responsible stewardship.
* Coordinate, schedule and carry out work orders, PM and projects in and through a maintenance management system to keep the property in top condition.
* Assist the Executive Director in setting budgets, establishing priorities, keeping records, documenting information, writing reports, planning projects and determining goals necessary for camp operations.
* Maintain a list of capital projects to be undertaken as time and money allow.
* Coordinate and direct contractors to ensure timely completion and desired results.
* Develop, plan, budget and prioritize a rolling 5 year plan for operations and capital projects * Maintain operating records as directed by your supervisor.
These include: * Records required by the Health Department for potable water and operation of the pool/spa and by the state for water quality and testing.
* Fire and safety equipment records.
* Detailed maintenance records for buildings.
* Maintain standardization records for replacing equipment.
* Stay current in all state codes relating to water treatment, sewage treatment and maintenance to ensure compliance with the code and to act as prime mover on seeing that all codes are adhered to.
* Monitor water and energy consumption with a view to conserve resources.
* Ensure that construction projects comply with all regulatory agencies and all state and local license and permit requirements.
* Use the appropriate skills necessary to administer programs such as Energy Management and/or water/wastewater treatment as they are applicable.

*Primary Job Responsibilities:* *Training Expectations:* * Participation in individual development and summer staff training as needed or requested.
* All necessary certifications to successfully operate the physical plant and be in compliance with all local state and federal regulations.
They may include Certified Pool Operator (CPO), Public water system operator and/or wastewater treatment operator.
*Camp or Job Specific Working Conditions:* * Participate as a member of the Management Team as needed to ensure the integration of program and property in order to deliver a program that meets the needs of campers and the camp mission, with an eye for safety at all times.
* Ensure camp facilities adhere to all American Camping Association (ACA) and State of Texas guidelines and perform all duties in accordance with prescribed regulatory compliance guidelines, including local, state, and federal guidelines as well as American Camp Association accreditation standards.
* Maintain and develop a schedule for checking the physical site and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair.
* Maintain the scheduled maintenance and repair schedule, which includes, but is not limited to, changing of HVAC filters, light bulbs, painting, inspections, pest control, trash removal, housekeeping, recycling, fire extinguishers and fire suppression systems and other such scheduled maintenance issues.
* Maintain the scheduled maintenance and repair/replacement schedule of heavy equipment, such as golf carts, HVAC systems, septic systems, road repair, major electrical and plumbing, irrigation systems and roofs.
* Complete the maintenance and repair, or coordinate with vendors for the maintenance and repair of all buildings’ HVAC, Plumbing & Electrical systems.
* Ensure that the pools, lawn and landscaping are properly maintained and operational.
* Monitor and ensure adherence to facilities budget.
* Monitor utility bills and consumption of water, electricity and propane.
* Purchase and care for all maintenance equipment and supplies.
* Train camp staff in the use of camp equipment including maintenance and program equipment as appropriate.
* Manage relationships and contracts with various vendors.
* Respond to emergencies on camp property.
* Assist in representing the camp to local businesses and other related camp groups.
* Supervise the Facilities staff (one full-time maintenance person and seasonal, temporary or contracted help).
*Required Knowledge & Skills* * Basic knowledge of engineering, painting, carpentry, electrical wiring and controls, plumbing, water and sewage treatment, vehicle and machinery operation, including maintenance and minor repairs.
* Proficiency in the safe and proper use of power equipment and tools, heavy and light machinery, and building materials.
* Basic knowledge of pool maintenance.
Certification in pool management preferred.
* Ability to communicate procedures and regulations to staff and guests.
*Physical Aspects of the Position:* * This may entail the need to assist in physical labor to show how a project needs to be completed.
* May have to lift up to 100 lbs.
and do other physical things such as pushing, squatting, kneeling, climbing, etc.
* This position may require the staff person to work out of doors, which will mean exposure to various changes in weather (heat, cold, rain, snow).
May also be in contact with chemicals in wastewater and pool water treatment.
* Ability, both visual and auditory, to identify and respond to safety and environmental hazards and inform campers, staff, and guests.
* Physical mobility and endurance to perform tasks while standing/walking for long periods of time (60 minutes or more).
* Ability to safely and properly use power tools and equipment.
* Ability to safely drive cars, light trucks, tractors, and other motorized vehicles.
* Ability to observe campers, staff, and guest behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures and apply appropriate management techniques.
* Physical ability to endure prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and stretching and eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate equipment and waterfront activities.
* Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid.
Must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury).
* Physical ability to operate with daily exposure to the sun.
*Summer Camp Duties:* * Develop a system to manage summer facility requests to include which items can be repaired on their own and which need over site * Hire and oversee a team of summer workers that will provide seasonal help in the areas of maintenance, grounds, pool and equine care *Horses & Pool Facilities:* * Maintain a Certified Pool Operator's license and maintain the pool in accordance with state regulations * Oversee the care of all horses and the upkeep of the equine facilities * Hire and train all horse and pool related summer staff positions (wranglers and lifeguards) * Collaborate with Program Leaders to ensure horses are available for program needs * Develop relationships with vendors to ensure excellence in pool and equine areas *Volunteer Programs* * Develop a system whereby a list of projects, project details, and project budgets are compiled and ready to go so volunteers can execute them * Lead teams of volunteers to execute projects including communicating with them about project details, supplies, skills, and additional logistics.
