Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Director to join our team.
As the Youth Director, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all youth programs and activities within our organization.
This is a leadership role that requires excellent communication skills, the ability to mentor and educate youth, and a strong commitment to fostering their personal growth and development.
Duties:
* The director will develop ministries for youth ages 6th to 12th grade.
* The director will work with the Director of Adult Ministry, the Director of Children’s Ministry and the Director of Family Ministry to develop multi-generational ministries for families with youth.
* Work with the staff in long-term and seasonal planning.
* Will develop and implement a plan to increase attendance and engagement in the youth programs.
* The director will work with other leaders to develop and secure theologically aligned and developmentally appropriate resources and curriculum that support the work of teachers and group leaders in ministry with youth.
* Develop weekly youth programs and small groups.
* As needed, plan and implement youth activities for church-wide events (Sunday morning, Sunday evening, Wednesday night, etc.
).
* Recruit, schedule, train, and pray for youth ministry volunteers.
* Create and effectively manage the youth ministry budget.
* Recruit and develop lay leadership for oversight and planning of youth ministries.
* Plan, coordinate, and implement special events for youth ministry (e.
g.
,
holiday events, Mission Trips, Fat Tuesday Fundraiser, Live Nativity, Sunrise Service, Easter Egg-Stravaganza, Back to School Bash, etc.
)
* Oversee the background checks and Safe Sanctuary certifications for all persons working with youth.
* Supervise the Youth Intern(s).
* Lead and teach the confirmation class.
* Coordinate Youth Sunday and special recognition Sundays such as Senior Sunday.
* Other duties as assigned by the senior pastor.
Experience:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following experience and qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children or youth in a professional or volunteer capacity
- Strong background in social work or related field
- Experience in event planning and coordination
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others
- Knowledge of Christian counseling principles is preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with youth, parents, staff, and volunteers
- Experience in fundraising or grant writing is a plus
- Must have a genuine passion for working with young people
