Role: Assists members with financial transactions, to included receiving and disbursing cash and other negotiable instruments.
Ensures completion of branch operations and other duties in assigned branch.
Supervises the tellers at the assigned branch and ensures they provide, consistent, high-quality member service.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provides on-going coaching and development to assigned teller staff, writes and conducts performance appraisals and identifies training needs.
Prepares teller schedules and monitors the work of assigned tellers.
Reviews and approves teller time records and time off requests.
Provides friendly, professional, personal and confidential service to all members and associates.
Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals and loan payments.
Issues negotiable items such as money orders, cashiers checks and gift cards to members.
Processes transfers from member accounts as requested.
Prepares member wire requests.
Serves as the vault teller.
Responsibilities include reconciling the vault ledger and submitting the weekly cash order.
Identifies member needs for BVSCU products/services and offers products/services to match member needs.
Balances cash drawer daily and maintains security of assigned cash drawer at all times.
Completes nightly branch balancing duties.
Assists Teller I and II with cash drawer discrepancy or posting errors.
Monitors service provided by Teller I and Teller II to determine if additional training is needed.
Approves large items for deposit.
Prepares the teller cash over and short report.
Assists with teller cash audits as requested by any member of management.
Maintains working knowledge of regulatory compliance related to member services and financial services area to include (but not limited to): BSA reporting requirements, OFAC, USA Patriot ACT, Red Flags, Regulation CC, Regulation D, Regulation E, Truth in Savings, Truth in Lending, Privacy, etc.
Position Requirements: Minimum two years of teller experience to include demonstrated proficiency in all Teller II tasks.
A high school education or GED required.
Ability to analyze data for equitable resolutions.
Ability to manage projects through to completion.
Proficient with problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work regular full-time hours.
Ability to work on-site at designated location.
Ability to communicate with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy and model exemplary member service.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications.
Must be bondable Ergonomic Considerations: Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time (6 to 7 hours per day).
Must be able to view a computer screen, use a keyboard to enter information, and manipulate a mouse.
Job includes some repetitive hand/wrist motions.
Ability to operate office machinery.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
