*Job Description *
The Sexual Assault Resource Center (SARC) has been a powerful answer to survivors of sexual assault in the Brazos Valley.
Since 1983, the agency has served the people of these communities with advocacy, empowerment and education.
We are a passionate group of individuals that are dedicated to this mission and ending sexual violence in all its forms.

*ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES *
*Direct Client Services *
All SARC direct client service positions are required to provide client advocacy support and must attend the entire SARC Advocate Training Program certified by the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) immediately after hire.
· Answers crisis hotline and addresses calls as needed.
· Greets and assists all guests to the facility.
· Provides information and referrals to clients, as needed.
· Provides appropriate paperwork to clients, as needed.
· Conducts client follow up calls after accompaniments, hotline requests, and case reviews.
· Coordinates client intakes into the counseling program including scheduling, reminders, and paperwork.
· Supports counselors with rescheduling clients, as needed.
· Inputs new and on-going client information into client database system.
· Maintains electronic and physical client files including intake documentation and follow ups.
· Advocates on behalf of clients for referrals including Crime Victim Compensation, legal orders, housing, and other community partners.
· Assists clients with Crime Victim Compensation application process.
· Prepares internal case review and charting for Sexual Assault Response Teams.
· Coordinates Sexual Assault Response Team meetings and trainings.
· Assists with events and trainings that are held at the facility.
· Shares equal responsibility with all staff to respond to clients through hospital, law enforcement, and court accompaniments and provides support for walk-in clients as needed.
· Serves as a backup to advocates on Staff on Call (SOC) on a rotating basis with other staff members.
*EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS *
· Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in social work, social sciences, pre-law, or other related degree + one year of social service experience.
· Required: High School Diploma.
· Applicants must pass a criminal background check.
*SKILLS & ABILITIES *
· High premium placed on social or customer service skills; demonstrate trauma-informed care for client interactions.
· High premium placed on organizational skills; maintain multiple databases for internal and external use.
· High premium placed on advocacy skills; demonstrate a fearlessness to advocate on behalf on survivors, the community assigned, and SARC partners and clients.
