Description
The School Psychologist, Educational Diagnostician is responsible for the psychological assessment of academic, social, emotional, and behavioral domains utilizing problem-solving and standardized evaluations.
The School Psychologist monitors the completion of case study evaluations and participates in Individual Education Plan (IEP) conferences and problem-solving meetings designing systems, programs and services that maximize students’ social, emotional, and educational success.
In collaboration with staff, families, students, and communities the school psychologist promotes effective educational environments.
Responsibilities:
Provide legally compliant multidisciplinary psycho-educational evaluations and reports by timelines set by IDEA and the school management team.
Monitor completion of case study evaluations and participate in IEP conferences and problem solving meetings.
Follow best practices in ecological assessment to include observation and parent input.
Monitor receipt of and review Request for Service packets from school districts, assist in scheduling IEP Administrative Placement and facilitating enrollment procedures.
Responsible for maintaining a variety of records, including IEP meeting schedules, annual and triennial IEP dates, assessment logs, DIS counseling progress notes and Registers, personal student files, student suspension records, Behavior Emergency Reports, Manifestation Determination files, Behavior Support Plan IEP Review dates, AB 3632 Referral logs and files, Inventory logs and other files and logs as required.
Assist in maintaining the currency of the school’s IEP Master Calendar.
Travel to multiple sites within the school geographical boundaries to required meetings as needed located throughout your designated geographic area.
Create and access multiple types of databases; utilize internet-based IEP document programs (such as Special Education Information Systems-SEIS or SIRAS); able to create documents using MS Office Powerpoint, Excel, and Word.
Assists with coordination of crisis intervention activities, provides grief counseling and psychological debriefing support as needed.
Adheres to school regulations, the Department of Psychological Services/Counseling Professional Standards and National Association of School Psychologists Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skill & Other Requirements:
A Master’s degree in Psychology or a closely related field from an institution of higher learning accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation
Educational Diagnostician Certification
Minimum two (2) years working with at risk youth and/or students in special education focusing on various disabilities including emotional disturbance, autism, ADD/ADHD, specific learning/severe disabilities.
The following Licensures are highly desirable, but not required: LSCI, NCSP, LEP, BCBA, MFT, LCSW, Crisis Prevention Intervention, or Clinical Psychologist
Must be legally eligible to work in Texas.
Maintain a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain transportation between job sites, is required.
Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, geography, and other job-related reasons.
