Description The Department of Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution, College of Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for 8 part-time or full-time Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure) positions at the principal lecturer, lecturer, senior lecturer, instructional assistant professor, instructional associate professor, instructional professor, associate professor of practice, professor of practice, visiting assistant professor, visiting associate professor, and visiting professor, and senior professor level with the titles and ranks depending on background, qualifications, and experience with a 4.
5-month or 9-month academic appointment, and the possibility of an additional summer appointment contingent upon need and availability of funds, beginning in spring, summer or fall 2024.
The successful applicant will be required to teach; advise and mentor graduate students; develop an independent, externally funded research program; participate in all aspects of the department's activities; and serve the profession.
Department Info: The Department of Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution is unique among the 15 departments within the College of Engineering, due to its strong focus on applied research and undergraduate education.
Currently, the department has 108 tenured/tenure-track and non-tenure track faculty members to support academic programs in electronic systems engineering technology, multidisciplinary engineering technology, manufacturing and mechanical engineering technology, technology management, and industrial distribution with an overall enrollment of approximately 2,309 undergraduate and 226 graduate students.
The faculty also supports approximately $4.
5 million annually in applied research and professional development efforts spanning areas that include embedded systems, communications, advanced manufacturing, intelligent product design and development, information technology management, human-computer interaction, sales management, distribution operations and supply chain management, and educational research.
