Conduct all duties and responsibilities as defined in the Blinn College Faculty Handbook for a part time faculty member.
Instructor will teach Education and Early Childhood Academic Dual Credit courses at a high school.
Instructor is employed by the school district.
Essential Duties • Provides instruction for courses at a variety of times as set forth by the ISD and Blinn College • Recruit students and represent the Education/Early Childhood program at community events throughout the Blinn College service area.
• Advises students in academic matters on campuses in the College District’s service area, with an emphasis on dual credit in the ISD.
• Demonstrates a commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructional excellence.
• Maintains access to students through posted office hours and electronic communication.
• Prepares and utilizes a course syllabus and assessments for each course using guidelines established by the institution.
• Maintains current knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and utilizes a variety of instructional delivery methods, classroom media, and educational resources including eCampus.
• Evaluates students’ performance through a variety of means to measure progress and keep them informed in a timely manner via eCampus.
• Submit grades, attendance, and statistical data according to the ISD and Blinn College submission dates.
• Assists in the development, distribution and collection of assessments for courses and program objectives.
• Provides recommendations to the Academic Dean, Assistant Dean, Program Coordinator, and Curriculum Resource Team regarding curriculum and represents the ISD in attending the yearly Child Development Advisory Committee.
• Demonstrates a positive and professional relationship with students, colleagues, college administration, and the community.
• Submits timely college reports and forms to the appropriate divisions/departments.
• Exhibits a commitment to lifelong learning through participation in professional development activities.
• Possesses a passion for teaching community college students.
• Demonstrates effective communication skills, both written and orally.
• Attends college orientation, required institutional meetings and course trainings including faculty meetings as deemed necessary by Blinn College.
• Willing to work with dual credit high school faculty and Dean of Instructional Administration to build the Education/Early Childhood program.
• Responsible for other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Master’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or related field.
or Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in early childhood, education, special education, or related field.
and Employee of Fayetteville, LaGrange, or Schulenburg ISD.
Preferred Experience and Training 5 years experience in teaching early childhood, elementary, special education, or other education settings; Physical Requirements Normal duties as required as a classroom teacher.
Required Degree, License or Certifications Master’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or related field.

This position will be teaching from the High School campuses in these locations.
Individuals will be teaching academic dual credit EDUC/TECA classes at the ISD.
The employee should be an ISD employee.
Credentials The College assigns appropriately credentialed faculty members in support of educational quality and the mission of the College, in keeping with Board policy DBA LOCAL-X (Employment Requirements and Restrictions – Credentials and Records: Credentials).
College policy is consistent with sound educational practice and SACSCOC guidelines.
Primary consideration is given to the highest degree earned in the discipline.
Furthermore, Blinn College’s Faculty Credentialing Guidelines table specifies recommended credentials for each rubric within the college’s course inventory.
