TLAC is of four departments in the School of Education and Human Development .

edu/ What we want We're seeking to fill a full-time, Staff position for a Program Coordinator I , who coordinates the planning, development, and implementation of the AggieSTEM Camp Program in the Department of Teaching, Learning, And Culture (TLAC).
The selected candidate will hire and supervise staff, work closely with the Human Resources department and collaborate with the Director to design the camp of scheduled classes, workshops and activities for the AggieSTEM Camp Program.
We're seeking a good communicator with exceptional organizational skills as communicating with parents in the months leading up to the start of camp and keeping parents informed of all camp logistics while managing communications/marketing via social media, email and other mediums is an essential part of this position.

Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree Two years' experience teaching, coaching, overseeing a camp, or closely related experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, university policies and procedures Knowledge of professional standards and regulations Skill in using computer applications including spreadsheet, database, and word processing software Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate programs Ability to identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and recommend effective solutions Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships Ability to set priorities and complete assignments on time Ability to train and supervise others Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (funded by the department) within three months of employment Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary Other Requirements and Factors: This position requires working scheduled nights and weekends.
24 hours on-call as needed for Camp/Events Preferred Qualifications: Valid Teacher Certification Three or more years teaching experience Three or more years' experience coordinating and/or overseeing a camp Knowledge and understanding of varied teaching methodologies Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the varying needs of students of all ages, backgrounds, and ability levels.

Essential Duties/Tasks: Program Development and Management - Collaborate with Director to design the annual calendar, camp schedule of classes, workshops and activities to include but not limited to: Summer camp programs, Fall/Spring AggieSTEM activities, and coordinating and/or assisting with special events as necessary.
Plans and coordinates logistics related to AggieSTEM activities t o include but not limited to: Travel/lodging, meals, contracts, transportation, marketing, and scheduling.
Promotes program and operational retention and effectiveness through on-going assessment, intervention, evaluation, and participant feedback.
Research and apply new knowledge and techniques to current policies, procedures, and operations.
Develop, implement, and monitor the effectiveness of STEM camp and Semester initiatives.
Ensure maintenance of program equipment and supplies.
Hiring - Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates assigned staff, including undergraduate student and graduate assistants.
Work in close collaboration with the Human Resources (HR) department, and other departments as needed to ensure a smooth hiring process for new, current, and/or previous staff and/or student workers.
Monitor applications, conduct interviews, and initiate Laserfiche hiring process for employees.
Monitor the progress of new hires including eligibility determination, paperwork, and payroll coordination.
Create and ensure that all employees’ personnel files are complete.
Coordinate with HR for any employment changes.
Supervise assigned staff including timesheet approvals.
Administrative - Coordinates comprehensive STEM activities, conferences, and annual camp programming functions, to include overseeing the AggieSTEM programming, approving and tracking appropriations and expenses, and assisting with professional development opportunities.
Coordinates and ensures that AggieSTEM is in compliance with local, university, state and federal agencies to include but not limited to: University Programs for Minors, TAMU, TLAC Department and School, and Cities of College Station and Bryan.
Coordinates office purchases.
Maintains program records and databases.
May assist in preparation and monitoring of budgets for programs and events.
Coordinates with internal and external partners as needed.
Communication - Serve as the primary parent contact, including in the months leading up to the start of camp, and keep parents informed of all camp logistics.
Responds to inquiries regarding program offerings.
Coordinates program communications and marketing via email, social media, and telephone.

Educates faculty, staff, students, and the general public about the area of responsibility and related programs provided by AggieSTEM.
Serves as liaison to faculty and staff, student organizations, external officiating organizations, vendors, and the general public and p erforms other duties as assigned.
