HTRI seeks someone to performs payroll processing and accounting functions, working closely with the Company’s payroll processing provider and HR.
Position also involves inputs to other corporate accounting functions, including maintaining employee staffing model, payroll bank transfers, and benefits accounting for the Company.
Principal responsibilities
Processes payroll for the Company, including the review of timesheets for completeness, accuracy, and compliance, correcting discrepancies as required.
Maintains payroll records for multiple states and completes payroll-related state registrations.
Prepares year-end reports for US payroll.
Arranges international payroll and maintains payroll records for Germany and the Company’s branch office in the UK.
Prepares year-end reports for UK payroll.
Records accounting transactions for the Company’s benefit programs.
Processes contributions and prepares reports related to HTRI’s 401(k) plan.
Handles workers compensation accounting.
Updates and recasts the employee staffing cash flow forecasting model on a consistent basis.
Creates and monitors project codes in the Company’s payroll processing application for employees to assign time incurred on project-related efforts.
Prepares annual pension reports for the actuarial firm.
Supports HR with the annual pension report for the Company’s plan administrator.
Assists with preparation of required year-end documents for providing to the CPA firm during annual financial and pension audits.
Submits monthly sales tax filings for the Company’s activities.
Reconciles general ledger accounts related to payroll and other liabilities.
Qualifications
BBA/BS in Accounting and five years’ accounting experience for a multi-million dollar, for-profit company OR High-school diploma and more than 10 years’ accounting experience for a multi-million dollar, for-profit company.
Professional experience with processing payroll for an organization or performing similar activities in any of the following roles (Office Manager, Payroll Clerk, Payroll Specialist).
Professional experience with Microsoft® Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook®)
Ability to work with people at all levels within the company and deal discretely with sensitive information
Preferred but Not Essential
Professional experience with SAP Business One or other accounting software packages besides QuickBooks.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Professional experience with project-based timekeeping
