Job Description
General Summary:
The Special Assistant to the CFO provides training and mentoring to members of Financial Services and Contract Services.
Aids other TEEX employees in Financial Services and Contract Services when an area is understaffed to meet TEEX objectives.
Assists in tasks preparing TEEX for the transition to FAMIS.
Provides other support to the CFO and Assistant CFO as requested.
This position reports to the Assistant CFO.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Eight years of related TEEX accounting experience (*Will allow 10 years of experience in accounting/business operations with an Associate's degree or 12 years of experience with a high school diploma).
Required Licenses/Certifications:
Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Eight years of accounting experience with one year of accounting experience with an agency at TAMUS.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
One year or more of supervisory experience.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and/or move light, moderate, and/or heavy objects with or without accommodation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
Knowledge of accounting practices.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Communication skills.
Customer service and problem-solving skills.
Equipment:
Standard office equipment: computer, keyboard, multifunctional printer, telephone, scanner.
Notifications:
This position is security sensitive.
This position may require work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.
This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TEEX regulations and procedures.
All tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and Agency safety requirements.
Ability to travel independently to other and/or remote locations by driving a personal or TEEX vehicle and/or flying on commercial airlines.
This is a wage position established to accommodate a temporary organizational need.
As such, TEEX does not guarantee any set number of hours or length of employment in this role.
Essential Duties, Tasks, and Percentages:
Support and Training – 50%
Provides Support and training of TEEX employees in Masterpiece operations, payroll administration, accounts receivable, contract services, and property/fleet management.
FAMIS Preparation Projects Assistance - 30%
Prepares information on variance between Masterpiece and FAMIS.
Performs review and clean-up of TEEX chart of accounts.
Assists in coordination of system integration planning.
Special Projects - 10%
Performs special projects as assigned by Assistant CFO/CFO.
Other Duties - 10%
Provides backup to other Financial Services positions as needed or assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.
