Summary: Directs the financial affairs of the division and prepares financial analysis of operations, including financial statements with supporting schedules for the guidance of management.
The Controller plans, organizes, directs, and controls the accounting function of the division and reports operational results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities are as follows: Other duties may be assigned.
• Coordinates and directs the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institutes and maintains other planning and control procedures, and analyzes and reports variances.
• Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.
• Keeps division management informed of the division's performance and provides advice on financial matters.
• Responsibility and oversight of • state registrations, permits, licenses, bonds, and taxes • accounts payable processing and disbursements • accounts receivable management • inventory control • general ledger, balance sheet, monthly, quarterly, and annual closing, bank reconciliation, cash reconciliation • Monitors performance of direct reports.
Provide prompt and objective coaching and counseling.
Reviews direct reports and approves performance appraisals initiated by direct reports.
• Develops an adequate plan for backup and succession of management and other key personnel.
Assures that management training and development needs are identified, and programs initiated.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the division’s Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Inventory Control teams.
Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; 5 + years of experience in similar or related role(s).
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) and financial regulations.
CMA or CPA certification preferred but not required.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general reporting, financial reports, and legal documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Computer Skills: Strong understanding of accounting software and ERP systems as well as MS Office suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Other Qualifications: • Working knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems and well-developed financial analysis capabilities.

• Well-developed management skills regarding principles and people.
• Proven ability to recruit, train, and motivate personnel to balance staffing strength with profitability and growth.

• Superior numeric skills.
