Who We Are Sponsored Research Services (SRS) is a consortium of research administrators supporting Texas A&M University System members.
We provide efficient and superior research administration services to members of The Texas A&M University System in Brazos County, Galveston and Qatar.
SRS teams work with stakeholders to provide expertise and assistance with proposal submissions, in negotiation of external contracts, and in project administration throughout the life of the award.

edu/division-units/sponsored-research-services What We Want Sponsored Research Services is seeking an SRS Sponsor Billing Administrator I who is responsible for preparing sponsor invoices and financial reports, verifying financial data and providing excellent customer service.

The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, one year of accounting experience in a business office, and/or experience with university or government fiscal office.

Qualifications Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to analyze financial information Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software Ability to handle time sensitive matters Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting One year accounting experience in a business office Experience with university or government fiscal office Responsibilities: Sponsor Billing - Processes, analyzes, reconciles and submits billing for sponsored research projects using FAMIS transactions.
Prepares, analyzes, reconciles, and submits accurate, timely financial deliverables and special reports/forms in compliance with sponsored research award requirements on SRS managed sponsored research accounts.
Assists in resolving reconciliation problems, financial deliverable issues, and collection of outstanding invoices.
Analyzes expense related issues including unallowable expenses, incorrect items or charges, and over budget errors and assists SRS Research Administrators in making necessary corrections.
Assists in planning of necessary steps when invoices are rejected for programmatic reasons such as: technical deliverables not complete or disagreement on contract terms.
Requests justifications for specific expenditures when requested by sponsors.
Works collaboratively on processes that cross functional areas.
Reporting - Prepares and submits quarterly, annual, and final financial reports according to sponsor and award requirements using FAMIS transactions.
Attends meetings to discuss collection efforts for outstanding invoices, including meetings with representatives from A&M System Members served by SRS.
Deliverables Tracking - Creates and tracks deliverables in award management system Maestro.
Enters billing schedules into Maestro.
Reviews sponsored research award documents to determine billing and reporting requirements and schedules.
Working collaboratively with SRS Research Administrators to facilitate effective and efficient submission of financial deliverables including: confirming all expenses have posted to a project; confirming direct expenses on annual/final financial deliverables; confirming revisions to financial deliverables.
Confirms technical deliverables have been submitted directly to the sponsor or received so that they can be submitted with the financial deliverable.
